Description
The "Hamsah" (the number five in Arabic) originated in Arab culture and Islam. The Jews who lived in Arabic lands took on the symbol, which is meant to protect against the "Evil Eye". In our design, we have the "Hamsah"-pattern framed with wishes of good fortune - love, health, prosperity, wealthy, fertility, and the like. Today the "Hamsah" is commonly used in artwork and decor in many diverse cultures.
So: good luck and good fortune to you! Which is what the "Hamsa" means today.
