Description
In Judaism we have four occasions to celebrate the New Year. The New year of the trees is celebrated on the 15th of the Month of Shvat. In Israel this is the time that the first flowers of the Almond blossoms start to bloom. It is a time when school chidden go out planting trees. I recall when my children were at school we went out in the fields and planted small trees and went back after years to see how they had grown. This year I feel the festival takes on special meaning we have been brought down in so many ways. But the regularity of of renewal that is inbuilt into our traditions gives us hope !
